Bambi

this is an absolutely tiny drawing, just over an inch high,
and it is a marvel that so much fine detail can be drawn in by hand
even if presumably traced over a photo-reduction?

Excluding characters we never see, Snow White's or Cinderella's parents, is Bambi's mother the ONLY death of a non-villain in a Disney feature?
(more recently there have been deaths in 'Up' and the frightful, witless and totally unengaging 'The Princess and the Frog')
